Nondual awareness does not exclude the ebb and flow of life's tides, whether they be emotional, mental, economic or environmental. To deny the waves of human experience is ludicrous .. surely this is a fact of our direct perception? But to derive our sense of self from these waves is madness .. surely who we are is not the same as what we perceive? To disentangle our identity from the phenomenal flow of existence is maturity. Then we can know ourselves as that which is unharmed by the vicissitudes of life, yet fully open to the world as it is being experienced whilst we are in earthly bodies. Surely this is the heart of reality, the bud of compassion, the whole purpose of awakening?
