BEING THE CHANGE: Friends Can Be Angels 

It was the first day of a new school and a new school year for Mrs. Thompson and as usual she told her class that she loved them all.

However, she soon changed her mind when she looked at Teddy Stoddard, slumped in the front seat with his messy clothes and his great need for a bath. A child told her that he had been a disaster the year before and inside a few days she found it gave her great pleasure to make bold X's all over his sloppy work, work that was never right.

Before Mrs. Thompson wrote her end of term reports, she reviewed the past records of the whole class and when she came to Teddy's she got a surprise. "Teddy is a bright child with a ready laugh. He does his work neatly and has good manners: he is a joy to be around." But, that was three long years ago. Then one year later, she is reading that Teddy is now living with a mother who is terminally ill and his teacher is writing that life at home must be a struggle. And the following year, she reads that Teddy's mother has died and the teacher is writing that if something isn't done soon, Teddy's home life will become too much for him.

By this time Mrs. Thompson is feeling ashamed of herself and this is made worse when her students bring her Christmas presents, neatly wrapped and decorated with gold and silver: except for Teddies which was in an old brown paper bag.

The children laughed when they saw the rhinestone bracelet with stones missing and a quarter bottle of perfume that Mrs Thompson took from the bag. But she soon stopped the sniggering by putting on the bracelet, said how beautiful it was and she then splashed some perfume on her wrists and told the class how much she loved the scent. And so she should have done for they were the last memories that Teddy had of his mum and what the teacher said made him feel so proud.

Teddy stayed after class to tell Mrs. Thompson that she smelled just like his mum used to.

That day changed Mrs. Thompson's life. She stopped her organised teaching of subjects and began to help the children where they needed most help and this gave her time to look after Teddy better as well as the other children in her class who had problems. A year later, Teddy put a note under her door, telling her she was the best teacher he'd ever had in his life. Six years later Mrs. Thompson got another letter from Teddy, telling her that he was now finishing high school, third in his class and that she was still the best teacher he'd ever had in his whole life.

More years passed by and Mrs. Thompson got another letter telling her that Timothy had now finished College and that she was still the best teacher he'd ever had in his life: signed Timothy Stoddart M.D.

The next Spring came another letter telling Mrs. Thompson that Timothy's father had died two years back, that he was getting married and wanted Mrs. Thompson to take the place of his parents at the wedding. Of course she went, wearing the bracelet with the rhinestones missing and she also wore the perfume Timothy's mum used to wear so long ago.

When they hugged after the wedding, Timothy thanked her for believing in him, for making him feel important when he was at his lowest and showing him that he could make a difference. When he'd finished, Mrs Thompson whispered back to him: "Sorry Timothy, but you've got this all wrong. It was you who taught me that I could make a real difference. It was after meeting you that I truly learned how to teach."

Doctor Stephen Wood who told this story says: "friends are angels who lift us to our feet when our own wings are in trouble."

Having discovered that his dad earned £20 an hour at work, the little boy of six was waiting at the door for dad to come home. He had spent the day begging money from everyone in his family, trying to make up that £20, but he was £5 short.

He met his dad at the door when the tired man came home from work. Dad was more grumpy this night than usual: he tapped his son's head by way of greeting and went straight to his armchair and slumped down exhausted.

"Dad," said the boy. "Could you let me have £5. I need it really bad. There's something I want to buy." "No, son, money doesn't grow on trees: you'll have to do without." But the boy didn't give up. Every now and then as the evening passed by, he would ask the same question but Dad continued to refuse.

However, the boy persisted and after a couple of hours had passed by, dad gave way for the sake of peace.

He then watched as the boy took a handful of money out of his school satchel and began to count.

The father got angry in the extreme and was about to bawl his child out, take back his £5, when the child walked over to him with £20 in his hand and said: "Dad, I can now afford an hour of your time. Here is £20.

Will you please play with me for one hour."

Not only did Dad play with the child but when the child got up next morning, after Dad had gone to work, he found that his dad had put the £20 back in his satchel. The boy was already looking forward to Dad's return from work that evening: he still had that £20 to pay him: it would surely buy another hour.

Why wait for Father's Day? Visit Dad or a person who reminds you of Dad and do something that both of you enjoy doing together.

Recipe: Medaglioni di patate e noci (Medallions of Potatoes and Nuts)

Ingredients for the dough:

5 hg flour

4 eggs

a little water  pinch salt

Prepare the dough by placing the flour in a mound with eggs and a pinch of salt, continue to mix until everything is well mixed and the dough is smooth. Let the dough rest 

in a sealed bag for food, in the meantime, prepare the filling.

Ingredients for the filling:  

4hg potatoes

20 nuts  

50 g pecorino cheese  

salt and pepper

Ingredients  for the sauce:

25g butter

bread crumbs

12 nuts

1 bunch of parsley 

Peel and steam the potatoes, then chop into small cubes.  Add potato with chopped nuts and grated pecorino. Mix everything together adding a pinch of salt and pepper. 

With a pasta machine, roll out the dough into long strips, about 6 cm.

Arrange a little every 6-7 cm 'of filling in the middle of the strip of dough, cover with another strip of dough, press with your fingers around each mound of filling to release any air bubbles. Cut out the "medallions" with the appropriate tool.

Prepare the sauce: In a pan, melt the butter, then sauté the breadcrumbs and nuts, then add the chopped parsley.  In a saucepan, bring to a boil the water, add salt, pour the "medallions" and cook for 6-7 minutes. Drain and season.  Sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese and serve hot.

Great pasta stuffed, doughy consistency within and outside grainy. The delicate flavor of potatoes goes well with the deep shades of nuts. Cheese, pepper and parsley enhance the taste of this dish really appetizing.

Much more planetary movement this week, with Mercury and Venus changing signs, and towards the end of the week the Sun and Mars also moving into Taurus.

The Sun remains in assertive, courageous, energetic Aries, until Sunday, when it moves into dogmatic, harmonious, loyal, practical Taurus.

The Moon starts the week in chatty, impulsive, flirtatious Gemini. Wednesday it moves into emotional, defensive and sensitive Cancer, with a First Quarter Moon on Thursday, with a need for some fresh starts. Friday it moves into domineering, exuberant, melodramatic Leo, finishing the week there.

Mercury is now in confident, determined, decisive Aries.

Venus moves into demonstrative, sensual, possessive Taurus on Tuesday, with a strong need to relate to a partner.

Mars remains in volatile, dynamic Aries, with high energy levels. The

Generation Planets’ ongoing influence remain the same for quite a while yet as follows:

Jupiter travels direct through tolerant, fun loving Gemini, remaining there until mid 2013, making us generally more changeable overall, to achieve success in challenging situations, but maybe distracting us at times.

VIOLET FLAME -- VIOLET RAY OF LIGHT -- AA ZADKIEL -- SATURDAY

The Violet Flame and the seventh Ray of light are the most tangible and most expressive of all seven light Rays and Flames in the visible world. It reflects the quality and relationship that exist between spirit and matter, and due to these properties the seventh violet Ray is sometimes called ceremonial or magical Ray, a Ray of rhythm, ritual, law and order, organization and group consciousness. The rhythm of the violet Ray builds, integrates, manifests, and circulates in our bodies.

The violet Ray carries along the Divine qualities of love, mercy, compassion, spiritual transfiguration and transformation, and freedom. Violet Flame Invocations should be performed on Saturday when this ray finds its strongest expression. Archangel Zadkiel, the Angel of ceremony and invocation of the Divine powers, is the most prominent representative of the violet Flame from the realm of Angelic beings.

The color of Archangel Zadkiel's Ray is royal purple. In His temple in the etheric realms above Cuba, the student is taught in the activities of invocation. Together with His Divine complement, the Holy Amethyst, Archangel Zadkiel teaches us how to employ the skill of rhythmical breathing in order to be able to disperse our shadows on our own.

This temple is round and very spacious. It consists of pure amethyst crystals, which had once been brought from all parts of the world. At the top of the tower, one can see the sculpture of Holy Amethyst, over two meters tall. In the center of the temple there can be found an altar made out of amethyst crystals. Here is the focus of the Flame. Since the violet Ray is seventh in line, around the main temple there are seven smaller temples, constructed in the same fashion as the central one. Out of the golden tower of each of those temples, we can see a living violet Flame as it rises toward the sky.

In the main temple one can be taught the art of dissolving one's own illusions and shadows, as well as the skill of invoking the higher powers. You will learn that there is life in each and every unfavorable spoken word, and it is going be returned back to you, so that you can release that life with love. You will learn not to make any kind of resistance if something negative comes to you in your everyday life and experience. You will learn not to find yourself offended if some discordant energy enters the periphery of your aura. These negative energies come to you only because there is a small focus in the octave of unascended people, who know that there is a life stream purifying, rising, and freeing itself. Wherever there is a focal point of holly fire, or one life stream who knows something about the violet Fire, there is the opportunity for the energy to be redeemed and brought back into the primal universal Cause. Everything which is being said about some other part of life, if only in a form of joke, which does not serve as a blessing to it, is a curse.

The seventh violet Ray is a Ray of purification and transformation. Surround yourself with the violet Flame and call up for Archangel Zadkiel's help. After you have visualized the violet Flame properly, hand over your problems, hardships and bad relations to the Flame, so that all negativities can be transmuted into positive things.

When you ask Archangel Zadkiel to be beside you in your attempts to find forgiveness and tolerance in your heart, He will invoke Divine mercy and your lover energy impulses will be transformed into higher, and you will learn how to resolve your pain, bitterness, negative thoughts, and all obstacles that stand on the path and prevent the access to deeper love and devotion. When you envision the possibility of profound love in your heart, the process of internal purification will begin. Archangel Zadkiel will awaken mercy, compassion and devotion in your heart, and help you get rid of the chains that you have put on yourself using your own will. He will release you from the wrong way of thinking; help you find inner peace and freedom. Archangel Zadkiel works with the spiritual energy of highly developed unconditional love on the soul chakra located above your head,

The representatives from the world of crystals for the Violet Ray (Violet Flame) are fire opal, sunstone and carnelian. These crystals are connected to the Svadhisthana chakra.

RUBY FLAME -- GOLDEN RUBY RAY -- ARCHANGEL AURIEL -- FRIDAY

The sixth golden ruby Ray is a Ray of love, devoted service, spiritual healing and idealism. This is a Ray of determination, abstraction and aspiration directed toward the causal areas of the human being. In the core of this Flame we find equity, disposition towards spirituality, ability to experience inner light, capacity of recognizing good. The basic attribute of the sixth golden-ruby Ray is the quality of peace, attained as a consequence of understanding and accepting the truth, and only after the previous total consecration and dedication.

The Ruby Flame Invocation is performed on Friday when this Ray exhibits its stronger outpouring, impressing with the intensity of its golden-ruby flame. Archangel Uriel, the Angel of Divine service, is the most prominent representative of the ruby Flame.

Archangel Uriel, as a female Divine counterpart has Donna Grazia. The color of His Flame is ruby. He is an Angel of Divine service and is the greatest of all Guardian Angels. Archangel Uriel is the leader of all Angels of protection, therefore also of your own Guardian Angel. He spreads everywhere the quality of peace and the sense of brotherhood and sisterhood. When you seek for inner peace and calm call up Archangel Uriel and ask Him to spread above your head His wings of protection.

He will help you distance yourself from the pain stemming from your past, be it physical, mental or emotional. He will free you from the irrational fears on one side, and from the unnecessary desires on the other. Archangel Uriel will bestow you with tranquility, grace, and healing on the spiritual level, as well as provide for your protection. His ruby Flame is capable of provoking unconditional love, spirituality and devotion to God in every individual. His Divine complement, Donna Grazia, possesses a very pronounced yin energies and qualities of mercy that are able to initiate in us selfless service.

Visualize yourself surrounded by the golden ruby Flame, and pray for peace, calm, love and inner joy. Let me be a Blessing Presence so that anybody who only touches the edge of my aura can feel Thy Love, Thy Peace and Thy Perfection! I AM the Presence of Blessing, I bless everybody and everything!

Our needs in energy, attention and serving are obstacles to spiritual progress for so long until we learn to consciously calm down the energies of our world, so that we can be given new power and new faith of our I AM Presence and of other Divine Beings.

If we fail to constantly maintain the inner and the outer peace, no matter how perfectly we act, we shall ultimately have only ashes - so long as in our consciousness there are so-called "seven mortal sins": lust or passion, revolt or anger, greed or envy, sloth or indifference, pride or arrogance, or any one of their shades. Peace is not a passive quality, peace is the most concentrated activity of strength!

How much strength and mastery over ourselves we need to preserve our own peace, to be absolutely balanced and Masters over every situation, regardless of the obstacles in our family life, knowledge and service. Fill me with Thy strength making me a Master here and now! I thank Thee. "
